BIOFACH will take place in Nuremberg and online from 10 to 13 February 2026 and puts young players in the organic sector in the spotlight and invites intergenerational dialogue.

Once a year, the international organic community gathers in Nuremberg at the world’s leading fair for organic food. From 10 to 13 February 2026, BIOFACH, BÖLW and IFOAM will be putting the next generation under the spotlight – especially in the congress programme. Under the banner “Growing Tomorrow: Young Voices, Bold Visions”, the focus will be on young people who are changing the global food and agriculture landscape with their bold visions and novel ideas. In times of global uncertainty – from climate crisis to geopolitical tensions and increasing social divisions – BIOFACH 2026 is set to bring all generations of the organic movement together. The aim is to forge a strong alliance between those who created the foundations of the ecological farming and food system and those who will continue the vision – with new ideas, diverse perspectives, and fresh energy.

“All over the world, young people are bringing new vigour to the ecological movement with their creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, and deep-seated desire for change. By putting these voices centre stage, we are showing that the organic system is more than just a market: it is a global movement on the verge of a new era, emphasises Ravi Prasad, Executive Director of IFOAM – Organics International.

Recent developments of the organic sector in the Central-Eastern European region – Policy session organized by ÖMKi

The Central-Eastern European Session organized by our institute has been part of this prominent event since 2012. This year, once again, the high-level policy session shows the latest organic sector developments and applied policy practices of selected countries of the Central-Eastern European region, which enable a dynamic organic growth and a shift towards sustainable food systems. Ministers of EU and non-EU member states including Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary, and representatives of organic NGOs share their approaches and lessons learned.
